UROS FLOATING ISLANDS:
Located withing the bay of Lake Titicaca about 6 km approx., of the city of Puno, (25 -30 minutes of navigation), currently there are more than 82 floating islands made of reed or totora plant.
According to history, the Uros were the oldest inhabitants of the ethnic groups that inhabited the region of Puno, a community of Aymara language that keep the tradition alive. Such as fishing, hunting of wild birds and collecting of eggs, men are skillful boat builders and sailors of reed boats and the women are good weavers and embroiderers.
